A light-handed technique that moves with the motions of the bones of the skull, spine, and sacrum, while listening to the movement of the fluid and energy that surrounds them.
One of the primary goals of Craniosacral bodywork is to decrease or remove restrictions to motion in the cranial rhythm, affecting the quality of the cranial wave and improving the nervous system, circulatory system, musculoskeletal system, and overall emotional health.
Craniosacral sessions are deeply relaxing with subtle yet profound effects. Due to its gentle nature it can be effective for most conditions, as it releases tension and enhances and strengthens the body. Craniosacral work can bolster resistance to diseases, thus improving overall health. It can be an effective preventive measure towards many aliments, and is particularly helpful to those who suffer from head, neck, or back injuries and ailments.
Sessions are done fully clothed with no lotion or oils and consists of 60-90 minutes. You may feel a dropping sensation or peaceful inner quiet, warmth and increased body awareness.
Lymphatic Drainage is a soft tissue technique consisting of a series of gentle pressured rhythmical strokes set in a particular pattern to aide in the function of the lymphatic system.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) can assist with the reduction of swelling, pain from illness, injury, or surgical procedures. MLD helps to remove inflammatory proteins and built-up fluids which will help speed up the healing process and reduce pain. It also supports the immune system by improving lymphatic flow, which removes cellular waste products, and can assist in re-direction of build in the car of lymph node blockage or removal of lymph nodes due to surgical procedures. MLD calms the nervous system, reducing illness related to stress and/or chronic pain.
MLD can shorten recovery time and minimize side-effects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries especially when applied both pre and post operative.
MLD as used for surgery recovery will often experience reduced swelling and bruising, quickened healing of incision, and firmer, more pliable scars, decreased discomfort and pain, softened and resolved lumpy areas, skin suppler and smoother, recovered skin texture and tones, and redirection from congested areas, improving circulation and promoting healing.
Sessions are usually done on the bare skin with minimum oil/lotions and consist of 60-90 minutes.
